Gliniane gołębie (Clay pigeons)
A Journalistic Platform (Estrada Publicystyczna) production presented together with Turyści (The Turist) double premiere in Opole on 31 March or 1 April 1961). The production’s poster lists the creators as: Barbara Barska, Ludwik Flaszen, Jerzy Grotowski, Jerzy Gurawski, Ewa Lubowiecka, Rena Mirecka and Jerzy Trybuna. The performers, all female, were Barbara Barska, Ewa Lubowiecka and Rena Mirecka. The author of the montage of documentary texts, recordings and films was Jerzy Grotowski, while the set design was by Jerzy Gurawski. The performance referred to reminiscences of the war and had a decidedly anti-fascist tone. It was aesthetically minimal and modest, following the conventions of a stage production addressed directly to the audience, while the actors’ personalities are subordinated to the historical and ideological message (commentaries and reviews referred to the approach of Bertolt Brecht). Gliniane gołębie was staged 34 times, primarily as a touring production at various venues: the Opole dairy (10 April 1961), Lewin Brzeski and Brzeg (12 April), Krapkowice (14 April), the main auditorium of the Opole Educational Institute (WSP; 19 April), Strzelce Opolskie (24 April), Pawłowice (5 May), Kościeliska (7 May), Łącznik (11 May), Łambinowice (12 May), Krzyżanowice (14 May), at the Nysa Technical Agricultural College (16 May), Zawiść (18 May), Jasienica (19 May) and Gracze (22 May).
